Join us and experience the Lake Lanier Lantern festival, where thousands gather to listen to live music, enjoy the treats from a variety of food trucks, and light up the lake by sharing personal wishes, dreams and goals via personalized water lanterns.
At the perfect moment, everyone ignites their lantern then lets it take flight across the lake. Enjoy the surreal ambiance as time slows and your lantern floats away to join thousands of others on the water.

The Lake Lanier Olympic Venue was built for the 1996 Olympic Rowing and Canoe/Kayak Competitions. The original timing tower remains today and is the last remaining venue from the 1996 Olympic Games that continues to be used for its original purpose.

WHAT TO EXPECT
We will have amazing vendors with food, drinks, and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. There will be stations to decorate your lantern and opportunities to sing and shout and moments of silence to reflect.
Once the day wanes to night, we will prepare our lanterns to be launched onto the water. This event includes the materials to decorate a simple wax lantern, as well as crafts for kids. Feel free to let your creativity shine! As the light fades the lanterns will be released onto the lake as we watch all the lights reflect our hopes and dreams as well as our memories across the water. It will be an amazing site to see for sure!
